Ewa Betańska

Abstract

The article contains a summary of problems diagnosed during the translation from French to Polish of a concise text taken from the book entitled 100 fiches pour comprendre le droit describing the stages of the civil procedure in France. The author quotes the text, and explains the meaning of 21 legal terms or expressions, the translation of which proved the most troublesome for students of specialized translation from many years. She justifies her choice of Polish equivalents and indicates their source of origin. Ultimately, she offers a complete translation of the extract, containing all the previously discussed terms.
